Vectos helps secure adoption of Stratford-on-Avon District Core Strategy
The long-awaited Core Strategy for the Stratford-on-Avon district, of which Vectos provided significant input, was adopted recently at a special meeting of Stratford District Council.
Vectos Microsim Director James Edwards said he is proud of the result that will form the basis of Stratford District Council’s planning policy up to 2031.
“We have helped approximately 15,500 homes achieve allocated status through the adoption of the plan - notably 3,500 homes at Long Marston Airfield and 3,000 homes at Gaydon Lighthorne Heath,” he said.
“We know that our evidence will hold up to scrutiny when seeking adoption of contentious strategies, putting us in a great position to help other councils with this process.
"The evidence we provided through our microsimulation models has ensured Stratford District Council can demonstrate a transport infrastructure strategy which can enable these sites to come forward in a sustainable manner with limited highway impacts.
“The transport infrastructure costs will be in the region of £60 million and include delivery of a circa £30 million new relief road in Stratford-upon-Avon. Our work will provide the evidence to funding contributions through the Community Infrastructure Levy.”
Planning and Housing Policy Manager Dave Nash said he is grateful to Vectos for helping to achieve adoption after such an extensive process.
