Boston Road, Hanwell

Project Overview

Vectos was engaged by A2Dominion to provide transport services for this 283-home development in Ealing, enhancing the existing residential quarter of Hanwell. The development also includes a new village square with shops, cafés and restaurants just minutes away from the train station. Affordable housing is a large part of the scheme, making up 35% of the total apartments and 37.6% of the total area of the development. The design of the ground floor space complements the existing shop fronts in the area, knitting together the residential building and urban grain. The brickwork of the building and the dark frame shop frontages aim to successfully complete this ‘Urban Village’ in Ealing. The scheme obtained planning consent in January 2018.

Our Approach

We worked closely with the project team and Ealing Borough Council to limit the traffic impacts of the scheme, rationalise the existing access points and improve the public realm on Boston Road. We were able to demonstrate that due to the existing site use, there would be an overall reduction in car trips to the site and car parking was provided at an appropriate level, reflecting the good public transport accessibility of the site.  We produced a Transport Statement, Travel Plan, Delivery and Servicing Management Plan and a Construction Traffic Management Plan to support the planning application.
