VECTOS ASSESS SUSTAINABLE URBAN TRANSPORT
Vectos assesses best practice measures in sustainable urban transport.
The International Projects Office of Vectos in Italy has been contracted to provide the final assessment of a four and a half year project for the European Commission – the RENAISSANCE Project. The project has implemented 42 demonstrations of sustainable transport measures including, cleaner fuelled vehicles, public transport innovations such as Mini-Metro and Ultra, demand management measures for people and goods in city centres, awareness-raising measures to change behaviour, safety measures, alternatives to car ownership and use, such as pooling and sharing cars, cycle hire etc, new innovations in goods transport management in cities and finally ITS measures to improve urban transport management. The project will be led by Prof. Laurie Pickup, International Projects Director at Vectos. The report provides guidance to the public and private sector on how to achieve sustainability targets for urban transport developments.
