The Wharves Deptford
We act for Lend Lease on this £300m mixed use scheme that comprises 1,132 residential units and over 100,000 ft2 of commercial floor space, in a range of buildings up to 24 storeys. The masterplan also allows for a range of shops and cafes, new flexible workspace, retention of the Victoria Pub, a new linear park and around 300 new trees. The site had the benefit of an existing planning consent however a revised application sought an uplift in the quantum of development at the site via a new masterplan.
As well as providing significant design input to this masterplan, Vectos also produced a suite of documents to accompany the planning application, including a Transport Assessment. Through early engagement with the London Borough of Lewisham and TfL, we were able to agree a revised trip generation methodology for the various land uses proposed such that the additional development did not result in a significant increase in traffic. As a result of this, TfL and Lewisham confirmed that highway network assessment was not required as part of the Transport Assessment. We subsequently agreed all transport matters with LB Lewisham and TfL and planning permission has been granted.
