The residential development at Appleby had a restrictive condition limiting the scale of development, due to concerns by Network Rail over the safety of additional pedestrians using an existing footpath crossing of the railway.
Vectos’ role was to deliver a Technical Assessment of Risk to pedestrians crossing the Settle-Carlisle Railway Line, to support a legal challenge to the condition.
Vectos provided a Technical Assessment of the risks associated with pedestrians crossing the railway line in Appleby. This required undertaking all-day pedestrian surveys, assessing the risks at the crossing and analysing Network Rail's own assessment of risk. This information is aimed at advising the client on a potential objection to the residential development that would be posed by Network Rail.
